This is a front loading single box cd player with a zero feedback output stage based round the ECC81/12AT7 valve. A 24BIT 96KhZ dac chipset is used.The digital filter is a simple 6db/octave type as a result this player lacks the usual edginess and agressive sound in the treble that afflicts 99% of digital equipment.The power supply is internal and comprises of a large toroidal transformer and five stages of volatge regulation.

This is a remote control line level valve preamp with some unique features.The power supply consists of a large toroidal transformer and a class A parallel/shunt regulated using quality passive components, this gives a much lower impedance power supply ( a good thing) and contributes significantly to the sound quality
The audio section is unique, the preamp comes fitted with 6922 double triode valves as standard but oweing to the SATC (Self Adjusting Tube Circuitry) the ZOE can be used with a number of other tubes such as, ECC81, ECC82, 6CG7, 12BH7, 6H30. so the sound can be fine tuned to the users taste.
And swap different valves has never been easier. A large plexiglas trim on the top can be removed simply undoing four screws allowing you to change the valves without removing the whole lid . Another small window on front panel lets you see through while the internal circuitry is back-lit during operational mode.
The ZOE has five line inputs, mute/operation switch, auto-delay, remote controlled volume, two sets of main outputs, tape outputs and home theatre direct outputs that bypass the whole preamplifier circuitry when the unit is switched off. This feature is particularly useful in complex home theatre installations and allows you to send the selected source signals to an external multichannel processor.

Reference all valve class A system phono preamplifier, has both moving magnet and moving coil inputs,selectable by user. A separate power supply garantees very low noise operation so the moving coil input has a great S/N ratio. Even the moving coil input is fed directly to a triode without the usual step up transformer. With great moving coil gain ( 66 db) it can accept low output m.c. cartridges ( 0.4 mV ! )There are also separate phono sockets for MC loading ( three different sets of loading plugs are supplied). two 6922 valves are used for the MC stage to complement the three ECC81s used for the MM stage which has 47db of gain.

Particular attention is paid to the power supply which comprises of no less than three large toroidal transformers and fourteen regulation stages.Analogue and Digital sections of the PSU are switchable separately so you can leave the valves warmed up.The transport section is modifed extensively with brass and rubber , even the spindle is decoupled from the motor to decrease vibration. see www.docet-lector.com for more details. Valve output stage has only one custom made film/foil capacitor in the signal path and has zero feedback. Sound quality is exceptional compares favourably with the 25 grand Krell in my system and a 60 grand Burmester in Harry Pearsons!
