Here we got a NOS Diptyque Audio DP160 planar magnetic loudspeakers They only had been opened to go on demo during a single show event, so they are virtually new and with full warranty. DP 140 and 160 had been discontinued recently, as company decided to re-design the range in the spirit of the newest Reference, which are made full of metal parts. Those two had been built previously with a tweeter installed in the wooden vertical panel. The snap is from the show, cropped. Speakers are painted white, the wooden panel is finished in zebrano veneer. Those speakers, used to cost £ 12.500. The new replacements 160mk2 are £ 19,800. So the discontinued models can be really called now the bargains of the century, given their performance even for the asking price, not to mention the clearance price here. Sonic wise they are beast and not shy on the bass at all, must be heard to believe. The pictures are showing them during one of the demo we carried, which resulted with a sale, btw. This exact pair is now packed and stored in our facilities, ready to be purchased and delivered. They may not look super efficient on the spec, but crossovers are not power hungry there and they are really easy to drive , unlike Magneplanars.We had been playing them with OSV Hybrid amplifier which is only 50 watts per channel and it was loud in the normal size room before we even hit a half of the scale. In other words, they are super easy to match and drive properly.
